At the start of my plant based journey we finally got on board the whole Netflix thing (cue binge watching documentaries!) It was my pre-vegan days and I was interested in doing something serious about my health, so one afternoon I sat down for a Netflix binge session and stumbled across several documentaries that ultimately changed my life.
Food Matters & Forks Over Knives (Netflix)
These are the two documentaries I recommend to anyone who asks me about starting to eat Plant Based for their health. I found them both extremely helpful when I transitioned to Plant Based and have watched them several times since.
Featuring undercover footage at Australian Pig farms, this documentary is completely eye opening and heart wrenching and I implore everyone to watch it, especially if you consume animal products (like we did). This was the documentary that made us realize the cruelty we were contributing to – and paying for – each time we purchased animal products. I wish that I had watched this documentary sooner.

Uprooting the Leading Causes of Death.
While it’s technically not a documentary, I’m adding it to my list because this lecture by Dr. Greger is absolutely fascinating and made a huge impact on our lifestyle and understanding the multitude of health benefits that come from a plant based diet.
